Lime Putty Plaster

A traditional lime putty plaster for walls and ceilings. Often referred to as coarse stuff and fine stuff, putty plaster is a wet product which is ready to use straight out the bag – although remixing again with a whisk is recommended before application.

Our Heritage Lime Putty Plaster is supplied in three different grades:
Coarse Plaster 0 – 5mm
Medium Plaster 0 – 3mm
Fine Plaster 0 – 1mm

A base coat of coarse putty plaster is applied first. Hair or fibres can be added to improve strength – essential when plastering onto wooden lath. A second coat of medium plaster is then applied to straighten the surface. An alternative to Coarse and Medium Putty Plasters is Limco Insulating Plaster (see below).

Finally, the surface is finished with a thin coat of fine stuff.

Time required between base coats is approximately 4-5 days on a masonry surface and 7 days minimum onto wooden lath. The finish coat of fine stuff can be applied when the previous coat is hard but still green, usually 2-5 days after. For further information see product data sheet.

Solo Lime Plaster Lime Green

Solo Lime Plaster

Lime Green Solo is a preblended lime plaster made with natural hydraulic lime that only requires the addition of water. Solo can be applied directly onto plasterboard, wood fibre board or a lime base coat of Duro or Ultra.

Solo lime plaster is durable and highly breathable. The setting time is quicker than for lime putty allowing it to be finished soon after application. Alternatively, Solo can be left unpainted for a natural lime plaster look protected by Silguard.

Duro Lime Green

Duro

Lime Green Duro is a lime base coat used inside for plaster or outside for render. Duro is made with natural hydraulic lime and is breathable. It allows moisture in the walls to escape and is ideal for old solid wall buildings.

Inside Duro is finished with a smooth coat of Solo plaster. The Solo finish can be left undecorated but is usually finished with a breathable lime paint, or mineral Paint.

When used outside it is finished with a topcoat of Natural Finish available in a range of colours, so decoration is not required. If the topcoat is to be decorated, then Beeck Mineral Paint is the ideal product because is highly durable and microporous.
